    Obviously this question is directed at caregivers, which I am not, but my second wife was a nurse at a VA hospital. The movie, which is based on the true story of a man who recognized the value of humor in medical treatment, caused her to try to bring some of the same to her patients. Unlike the movie however, she stayed within the rules of medical practice. She was always a person who joked around a lot and she took this attitude to work with her as well. She had a flower pin she used to wear that had lights in the petals that lite up in a circular pattern and got a lot of comments.

    She really liked the movie and was also a big fan of the MASH TV series, which also combines humor and medical treatment.

    I bring humor to my patients. I keep a light heart no matter what the situation and help to always look at the bright side. I treat all of my patients with dignity no matter the reason for their admission to the hospital. Although I do keep within the guidelines of the medical practice.
