Hi, I can't seem to remember the title of this one. I saw it on TV in the middle-late 80's I think but that was in Poland so the movie might have been a bit older.

The movie is about a young boy who travels with a warrior. The boy's father was a great wizard but lost the battle with the evil sorcerer and perished. I also remember a scene where the good wizard takes of his blue magical ring before battle(his magic was also blue color) and hides it a gargoyle like statue in the castle. The ring is supposed to give more power or something. I think the bad guy also has a ring that is red (and so is his magic). The boy ends up traveling to some forest and trains hard and at the end he gets back to the castle and defeats the evil sorcerer.

I remember some more scenes as well. For example when the boy and the warrior(mercenary?) go through some haunted tunnels where screams of the dead are supposed to drive you crazy and make you lose your way, so they sing very loudly to repel the ghosts.
