    Is Netflix worth the money?
I'm considering perscribing to netflix, I'm not sure if I should buy the membership because I thinkit might be too expensive! Can someone please tell me if its worth the money and also how much it would cost to get unlimeted movies for a month?

    Thanks! :D

They have three unlimited plans at present, cost varies depending on how many DVDs you want to have out at a time:

1 DVD at a time $8.99 per month
2 DVDs at a time $13.99 per month
3 DVDs at a time $16.99 per month

All three plans feature unlimited watching of movies online on your PC. I find they tend to have a lot of older, foreign and art movies than Blockbuster, and they have regional shipping centers so you tend to get new movies very quickly. I get 2-3 day turnaround on movies. So if you had the 1 DVD at a time plan and returned a movie the day after it arrived, you could theoretically watch 10-15 movies per month for $8.99 (plus whatever you decided to watch online). Whether it's worth it or not depends on your movie viewing habits, I suppose.

The guy who came up with redbox is seriously a smart cookie... they are all over the country and much easier than dealing with a rental clerk. I never bother renting movies when you can either watch them online or for the most part buy them cheaper than renting... If you are going to subscribe to a mail rental place def go with netflix and not blockbuster...

We have one of those outside the grocery store near my house. But I've yet to see a redbox that has Akira Kurosawa's "Throne of Blood", or John Huston's "Treasure of the Sierra Madre, or Terry Gilliam's "Brazil", or [name your older movie or anything other than the top box office hits]. For a movie aficionado like me, the Netflix admission price is worth it for the access it gives me to movies you won't find at your local redbox... or for that matter, at your local video store. However, if you're looking for a recent top box office hit (or non-hit), the redbox thing works OK. It all depends on what you're hankering for.

    Redbox ROCKS!

A buck a night, and if you keep it for 25 nights, it's yours forever!

    Genius!

Wish I had thought of such a thing!

I have netflix and I love it. I'm about to upgrade my plan. My biggest problem though is that I'm too lazy to take the envelope to my mailbox (yeah, sad I know). But I definitely recommend it.

Netflix is great!! I highly recommend it. We even had our satellite subscription suspended to save money for a few months and haven't missed it thanks to Netflix.

Well I haven't gotten into anything yet. I am just about to graduate. I have only done what internship will allow. I have done a few jobs here and there for a local agency but that's it so far. But I attend a residential junior college for the deaf so I get a lot of exposure where I am.. most of my experience comes from that.

I have a few coworkers that have it and absolutely love it.

With the streaming option that many Bluray players have built in... who needs HBO and Cinemax for the most part.

I haven't gotten it yet... but that doesn't mean I won't. Just haven't gotten around to signing up.

You can also stream netflix movies through your Xbox if you have one.

As far as progunr stated... if you rent a movie for 25 days (redbox) well what the hell, you spent the price of owning one!

I absolutely love Netflix.. I've been with them for years now, since 2007, and I would twitch horribly if I didn't have it (lol okay, maybe exaggeration, but... ) I honestly would rather pay for it then cable, if push came to shove.. plus if you ARE having a tough month, just put your account on hold, it'll ask you to send your movies in that you have out but it won't bill you until a date you set to be active again (verrry simple btw) but if you decide you want to resume earlier, not a problem, it's so simple to manage that too.

Customer service is impeccable, when you have an issue, go to the netflix site, describe the problem (or something like that, I can't remember) and it'll give you a number with which to call them (say, 1542 or something) and you get through right away and you don't have to reiterate the problem extensively.

If you lose a movie, no guilt trip... they might forgive it (if it's been a long time since you've lost one, and if you've been with them a while) or they will charge you, but only the price of the movie... no 'lost revenue' fees like blockbuster (had that happen to a friend, even though she brought in the very same movie, unopened to replace the one she lost... damn, huh?) and thus no issues.

Instant Play is amazing, Starz has teamed up with Netflix, and you get some awesome movies... the last couple days I watched Grownups and Legion and later I'll probably watch Crazies.. you have older movies to choose etc and they change the list pretty nicely.

I have the 15 dollar plan, so I can rent 2 movies at a time... and when I send it back, I literally get one 2 days later... super fast, even if you live in a small arse town.

    Netflix? Maaajor props!

My family and I really enjoy Netflix. We just subscribe to the streaming. We do not get the DVDs sent to us. We have found the streaming movies' selection to be great. Also it is very economical. Definitely worth the money and the wait. We also enjoy watching some of our favorite shows on netflix. Another good site for streaming movies and shows is HULU.
