Hi, I am trying to find the name of a movie I believe was released sometime in the 80s. It is about a funny guy who loses his memory at the end of every day (or maybe when he goes to sleep - not sure). Eventually he starts writing notes and devising ways to remind him what happened earlier. I think that the plot also involved a murderer/s or some other criminals that were against the protagonist. But it is a light-hearted, family movie, not a serious one.
One scene I do remember clearly is when the protagonist is put in jail, and he escapes by throwing a tin can through the bars, knocking out the guard. Before he throws the can, he has to "check second base", as he is accustomed from his baseball history.
