Where to get parts for Dell LCD E207WFP?
I have a Dell E207WFP LCD monitor that is out of warranty. There is a rubber/plastic pad that you press to turn on the monitor, change contrast, etc. The nub for the power button is broken so I can't turn on the monitor.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get this part other than finding a scrap monitor?

    Dell Model: E207WFP
    AUO model: M201EW02 V8
Number printed on back of part: A33G0049 No. 2

I have checked the AUO web site with no luck. I'm not going to pay Dell anything just to find out they won't sell me the part. Unless someone knows how to contact Dell without paying to talk to someone about an out of warranty item.

    Thanks!

As advice I gave earlier on a similar issue, something like this your not going to be able to buy the part, so this is where jury rigging comes in. if it's a soft plastic try to push something like a thumbtack through so it will make contact, or use superglue and a small piece of plastic(of the same length as the previous contact) to attach to the back so that it makes proper contact again.

Thanks. I was able to repair the part. It's a poor design of the original part, but my fix seems to be holding.

Np. Those kind of switches tend to break because they are after the cheapest way to put it together. They also tend to not sell the little tiny parts, not enough profit, so if you want to fix it it's a DIY operation. And if your fix does stop working just redo it :)

mdosh01 - was your on/off button broken completely off the plastic strip? Mine is, can't figure out how to repair.

I had this happen too. Was able to superglue the part together. Spoke with someone at Dell to try and get spare parts and they told me that I have to spend $100 for the ENTIRE screen assembly, that they don't sell the small 50cent part. It IS a poor design. The other 4 buttons are directly in front of the contact. It is only the power button (the MOST USED button) that is cantilevered off to the side. <sigh>. Good Luck!

Here's a photobucket group of pics of this repair via superglue.
