Monitor says No signal - New computer
hey I'm new to these forums but I'm having a rather troubling problem. About 2 days ago I bought a new computer from my local computer shop, its made up of :

    Asus M2N Sli Deluxe motherboard
    Legend DDR2 667mhz 512mb ram x2
    Nvidia 7950GT
    AMD Dual Core 4200+ AM2
Western Digital Sata 80gb Hard Drive
Macron Case with a Macron 400w PSU
    Pioneer DVD Burner
    Liteon CD Burner

I put it all together correctly, at first the problem I was havign was that my computer would shut off after like 3 seconds kind of like how a car stalls. I fixed that by Clearing My CMOS by taking the battery out and switching the switch thing over and back again. Now I have another problem, I know my computer and everything is starting such as my hard drive and cpu/gfx fans because they're spinning and I here the hard drive loading and the post screen doing a ram check. Just I do not see anything on the monitor (VGA) it just says " No Signal ".

I have tried clearing the cmos again and I've put the gfx card on the other pci-e slot. But it didn't fix nethin. I am stuffed on what the problem is and yes I've plugged in the power at the back of the graphics card so yes.. has anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks in advanced

*edit* I changed the monitor with an old one and I still get no display.. this one doesn't even say it has no signal it just goes to sleep mode ( orange coloured led ). Maybe either its my gfx.. or my mobo because I've had trouble with my mobo before even though all my parts are brand new.

I just had the same problem with a bare-bones kit I put together. The problem was that the motherboard was grounded. To check this remove the motherboard from the case and connect the power supply to it. Connect the monitor and ram. You can turn it on by grounding across the two on/off pins with a flat-head screwdriver. If the motherboard boot to bios then you know it was grounded. Disconnect the power and sit back in case and try again. Basically you want to try testing if it will boot after each step of putting it back together.
