    Blank Screen
I have my Gateway Flat Screen monitor set to power down after 1 hour (and leave it on overnight) and the last 2 days I have come into work and normally would just touch the mouse or keyboard and the monitor would power up and everything would be good. The last 2 mornings I have come in and touched mouse/keyboard and get nothing (blank screen), there is power (at least the power light is on) so yesterday I just powered the computer down and then back up and everything was back to normal but, this morning I touch mouse/keyboard and nothing (screen is blank) and again power down and back up and still the screen is blank. We have another computer in our office so I plug my monitor into the other computer and it works perfectly. I also used my video cord on the other computer and it worked. I'm thinking now that it has to be the video card. I bring my monitor back to my computer and plug it up again and for kicks and giggles fire it up and it works perfectly.
I'm lost now, am I right in assuming that my video card is about to die, it is a Nvidia GeForece4 that can be changed out. Anyone have any ideas of where to go from here as I would like to get ahead of a total failure.

I think the problem is in the hibernation circuitry. The monitor is not detecting that the PC is "waking up". If you power down the monitor and power it back up, does it work?

As I mentioned in my initial post I did power it down this morning (holding power button in until it shut off) and it would not come back up, but just powered down just now and it came back up and is working properly. I guess for now I should disable the "hibernation" factor (power) and set it to not turn off at all.

Or power off the monitor when you leave
