    Contact the friend's family... that's all you can do.

    Some sites are better than others. Some show place of death. There is a site which "stores" death notices.

    What do you need to know and why is it important to you?

    Typing in caps is the same as shouting at me. There's no need. {Mod Note caps were edited out}

    I don't understand why you refuse to pay for the info if it's so important to you.

    At any rate try the Charlotte, NC newspapers, both obituaries and death notices.

    It will cost you to obtain a copy of the Death Certificate - if it can be released to you.

    Twenty years apart makes it difficult to get information.

    I actually do this type of work. Sometimes you have to use combined sources. What type of info are you seeking? Next of kin, cause of death, something else?

    Why is this incorrect or not helpful? You didn't read that I am willing to help but would have to access mutiple sources? First I need to know why you want the info. I am not disclosing info which could cause a problem for the next of kin.
