How to convert rainfall rate (kg m-2 s-1) to rainfall(mm)?

The gas gauge on my 95 Honda Civic LX is stuck on full (I wish it was always full! ) I checked the fuel level sending unit (under the rear seat) and it seemed to be working fine. I don't know what else to check, so if you know how to fix this please help!

I have a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4. The gas gauge and the temperature gauge would stop working at the same time when the car warmed up. They both would come back on periodically and then off again. Currently they have not come back on in about 3 months. How do I fix this problem?
