vivid dreams getting out of control!
I dream about an ex lover and wake up feeling like we're back together. I have nightmares and wake up screaming drenched in sweat, I dream my boyfriend cheats on me and wake up crying, and have a hard time believing he didn't really do it, I feel like m going crazy, my dreams are way too realistic!
Is there anything I can do throughout my day to calm my brain from having these vivid dreams?

I don't really know of anything that will stop dreams.

Are you taking any medication? Some medications have a side effect of vivid dreams.

    Hi, becka19!

I would like to add also that, have you recently stopped taking any kind of medication, please?

Also, are you in a new relationship with someone now that's going okay for the both of you?

    Thanks!

Dreams are your minds way of working through a problem.

Don't drink any caffeine 3 to 4 hours before bedtime, and stop eating at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Write down the dream in as much detail as possible, just before you go to sleep say to yourself, when I dream tonight I will be aware I'm dreaming,it takes a bit of practice, its called lucid dreaming, when you can control what's happening in the dream.

When dreaming and you realise it,stop and ask your ex any question you want, realise this is a dream and I can wake up,and tell yourself to wake up.

Your dream sounds like a typical anxiety dream, example, relationship problems, exams etc.

If there has been a tramatic event surrounding your ex,you may need to speak to your gp.
