Not an std or uti, what else could it be?
By boyfriend started complaining that it burned when he urinated the other day so he went to the doctors. They took a urine sample and tested for a uti, and even though neither of us have a history of having any stds, for chlamydia and gonorrhea as well. They said all of the test came back negative but there was a small amount of white blood cells in his urine but not to worry about it. It stopped hurting for a couple days so he followed their advice and stopped worrying. But now today it started hurting when he urinated again plus now there's puss in his urine and he says he just feels uncomfortable in general now down there, but he couldn't really describe how. He said it isn't exactly pain, almost like a tingle but not quite. Any other ideas for what might cause it?

I've had something similar to this too. Except that I had to pain during urination. I had the constant tingle or urge to pee with the pain in. I went to the urologist and said that it could be an std since the white blood cells weren't present. He put me on an antibiotic to cure the infection just in case. Go to a urologist and tell all the symptoms, no shame in being honest if it cures you in the end... also had a UTI before. Go to doctor and ask about antibiotic medicines. Doxycycline is usually prescribed and helps with anything from UTI, Syphillis, Chlamydia to acne... ask about it

This could be the beginning of a prostate infection. It is a good idea to see a urologist asap. Prostatitis -- familydoctor.org
