My son has had a fever for 5 days now and I have been giving him ibuprofen every 7 hrs... I took him to the doctor today because the fever has not gone away and he has developed a cough over the last 2-3 days... the doctor checked him out and said other than the fever and cough, he looked and sounded fine... he didn't have a sore throat or runny/irritated nose and his ears looked fine... I didn't ask about giving him something for the cough while still taking the ibuprofen... but tonight, his cough was more frequent than when we were at the doctor... and I had some triaminic cough medicine in my cabinet... so I gave it to him and THEN decided to check his temp before he went to bed and his fever was just starting to go back up (due to the IB wearing off)... so I gave him some IB and sent him to bed, only to then wonder if I could combine the 2 medications... any help ASAP would be appreciated!! Thanks!!
