I was on vicodin 7.5 taking 3 a day now the hospital want all chronic pain members to go on morphine extended release.What is the 60mg every 12 hrs compared to the 3 (7.5) vicodin I was on

The morphine extended release is recommended because it only has to be taken ONCE a day s compared to vicodin 3X day. The only difference is probably now you are having trouble getting to sleep, whereby the morphine once a day will allow you a better sleep cycle. I hope this answers your question. Otherwise I guess the best answers could come from the pharmacist allocating the medication. Here in Ontario we receive a detailed medication information sheet each time we receive medication.

Ty but what I was wondering is 120mg of extened daily the same as 22.5mgs of vicodin

The only thing I can tell you is l0mg vicodin is equal to l5mg of morphine. I hope this helps.
