    Medication interactions
Had a stroke in 2005, husband passed away 2006, have a problem sleeping through the night. Wake up every couple hours to eat. Upper stomach feels hard and bloated. Could this be from the different meds I'm on? I take crestor, plavix, hctz, synthroid, nexium, and zoloft any info would be appreciated thanks

Suzette, we can't make a deliberation regarding your medications. That is for a doctor to do, however, your sleeping problem may be because of one or two interacting unfavourably.

Waking up to eat would be more or less a discipline problem. If you have a fulfilling enough dinner, then you should be able to get through the night without waking up to eat. As for your stomach being bloated and hard, that sounds like a constipation issue that can be solved with eating enough fibre. You should not let that condition continue and if it does you should see your doctor.

A forgotten adjunct resource is your pharmacist! They are well trained in med interactions, and doctors aren't always as current or only ever know about the usual ones.

Some meds slow your digestion down. You really need to stop eating every 2 hours of the night regardless of what you are on.

And of course if one is eating every couple hours they can be bloated, how about not eating every couple hours and just trying to go back to bed
