Doctor unjustly refused to write adderall prescription due to urine test results
I have been prescribed adderall since I was in the 8th grade... last year the price suddenly went up and in couldn't afford it for months until I got Medicaid... Once I did I had to see a new doctor and they said they wanted to start me off on a lower amount and gradually increase it which I understood and agreed with, and I've been taking a lower amount for months now... last month I felt as though the lower amount wasn't working as well anymore and occasionally (not very often) took an extra half a pill here and there and as a result of that as well as not being able to get to the doctor until a couple days after I would've been out anyway... I hadn't taken my medicine for about 6 days prior to my appointment, at which time I explained it hadn't been working as well and he agreed to increase it to my original dose. He asked me when I had taken my last pill and, being scared that he would think I was abusing my pills by taking more than I was supposed to, I (stupidly) lied and said I had taken one that morning, and then he told me he wanted to give me a urine test because my last one was a year ago with the doctor he replaced at the clinic and when the nurse came in I admitted that I lied, not to keep myself out of trouble but because I felt guilty for lying especially since I figured he'd find out I lied to him because of the test. He called me today to tell me that the test came back with no trace of it in my system, and he would not write my script anymore. I explained that I already told him that I had been out but he said that wasn't until after I knew I had to take a urine test and basically told me he didn't believe me. I can see how it would look, but I have always taken my medicine like I should... I know some people sell it and stuff but I do not. And other drug tests I've taken at the clinic have come back fine. I've never tried to get my medicine early or gave them any other reason to believe that I am untrustworthy or a drug abuser or drug seller. I need this medication and I guess my question is, is there anything I can do legally or otherwise to get my medicine back? I'm afraid that even if I saw someone else, because he accused me of this, they won't believe me either. Can I demand they do a hair test, which it would most likely show up on? Because to me this is sort of like slander... he's making false accusations that will affect my ability to get a medication that I need for a condition that affects my ability to function in my daily life.. it isn't just no big deal.

No, there is nothing you can legally do. And this isn't "like slander" because you put yourself in this situation by lying.

Unfortunately, you created this situation and made yourself appear to be guilty whether you are and the doctor is within his right and responsibility to stop providing this medication.

Looks like you might have to find another doctor, but then it might look like you are doctor shopping in order to get stimulants.
