    Depo Proveria BC Needle
    You say that it takes up to 12 - 18 months after you get off Depo to get pregnant right? I was just wondering can you get pregnant as soon as you get off the needle, is it possible? Or do the majority of people get pregnant months after they are off.. of like a year and so many months after? Will the child have any birth defects? Of low weight.. or anything wrong with him/her? When is the earliest months that you can get pregnant after you are off Depro? Why do it take so long for your body to get back to normal? When you do conceive (or get pregnant) is there anything that we should be looking for.. (we as in the people who are on depro) Will there be anything different in a pregnancy with a person who was on Depro than a person who wasn't?

    These are just a few questions I have been thinking about.. that I would like to have answered so I would stop worrying a bit.. if you can help me that would be great! Thanks!

    I was on Depo shot for 2 years. When I stopped it only took my body a couple of months to reboot itself. I didn't have a period the entire time I was on it. Each shot has thre months worth of drugs in it so my last shot I had the three months and then after that my body started to realize I wasn't on any kind of birth control and slowly I got my period back. I then tried different ones. I get really sick taking pills and have severe reactions to the patch. Depo was awesome until I gained all that weight! My last choice was the Ring. I took it out to get pregnant. I haven't had a single complication with my pregnancy. My doctor told me that it was completely fine. All it does was make your body think you are pregnant so it doesn't build that uterine lining. It's just like taking any other birthcontrol. If you stopped to try and conceive than the medication has time to work it's way out of your system. But birth control for women is normally the same things that happen to your body naturally during pregnancy so stop worrying so much because that isn't good for you!

    Depro Provera
    I have been on Depro Provera for over 4 years... I've never had any symptoms from this needle.. I never had a period in years.. I have got some dry spots and that is all from the Depo shot.. I am wondering is the chance highly likely that I will have a miscarriage with my first child? I am planning on having children within the next 4 years.. and I would really like to prepare myself for this now.. May I have a premature baby? I would like to know.. can someone please answer this?

    I have heard that the drug is effective for up to six months after withdrawing from it-I would suggest that you give yourself up to a full year before trying for children-keep healthy and drug free-best wishes! And good luck.

    J_9 will know way more about this than I-I'm advising from an anatomical and phisiological standpoint.

    It can take a woman up to, and sometimes longer, than 18 months to conceive after discontinuing this medication.

    The rate of conception varies widely as each of us are individual and respond differently to different drugs.

    Again we are individual... so the chance for you to have a miscarriage is really unknown. This drug, in itself, does not pose a threat of miscarriage according to my texts. Miscarriage is usually due to an underdeveloped fetus that would not be viable to undergo fetal maturation, and that can occur in anyone of any age, socioeconomic status, medication regimen, etc.

    Again, preterm deliveries are highly individual and one cannot directly correlate preterm births with this particular med.

    You have some wonderful questions. It is good to know that you are planning ahead. To prepare yourself now, you need to make sure you have a nutritious diet that includes folic acid.

    FYI... I was on depo for over 5 years, and I have a beautiful 5 year old son.

    Depro Provera Shot
    Like I said before, I am on the depo provera shot.. I have been on it for over 4 years.. and my and my boyfriend are finally almost ready to get pregnant.. I am expecting to have a baby within 4 years.. I am planning on getting off my shot when we move in our own house.. within a year or so... when I get off this shot, should I change my diet? Or be eating anything healthy... or doing anything differently then what I am doing now? I mainly eat kd and chicken.. with water chocolate milk or pepsi.. I know that isn't a good thing.. but I am wondering should I change my diet or my food intake.. before I get pregnant so then my body would be ajusted to the change I have given it? Or should I just wait until I am pregnant to change my diet and all of this? I am a bit nervous with my first child knowhing that I could either get twins or triples.. also knowing that I have been on depo provera for over 4 years without changing it.. don't seem to help.. I hear a lot of people miscarry after they have been on any form of birth control for to long with their first child.. do you think this will happen to me? I've never had a pap.. and I know I have to get one before we try for a baby to make sure everything is OK.. I love babies.. I can't stop thinking about them and how much I can't wait to have one of our own.. Sometimes I think I pressure my boyfriend about this.. but other times I don't think that we talk about it that much.. which I know we do.. cause we talk about it a lot.. he knows how much I want a child.. and he knows that somedya soon we will have one of our own.. but I think we will be worried out of our mind when things do happen.. what should we do?we both want babes.. and we both want what will be best for our child through concieving and having our child.. we are worried about what this have done by me being on the needle for so long may do some harm to something.. help us please.. we need some advice.. before we start to try for our first child.. PLEASE

    Please be aware that it can take quite some time after coming off the shot to conceive... as much as two years sometimes... I would suggest start eating healthy now. Take in lots of vitamin C and calcium and folic acid. Try to ditch the soft drinks now, so it will be easier when you do get pregnant.

    I would suggest, however, to be absolutely sure that you both want children before going through with it, otherwise one person may hold it against the other one. It would also be easier to get married first. If you choose not to get married, file for child support immediately even if you are together and live together, so that its taken care of in case things don't work out... children are hard on reltionships... sometimes even the strong ones don't make it.

    OK, well to each their own... I would want to fit in my dress LOL... although depending on your religion, if any, you may have to wait until after the baby is born before they will permit it. Good luck to you!

    No... just remember it will take a while to get the hormones out of your system. Try not to get too discouraged. Stress will make it more difficult to conceive. Also just go with the flow, don't try too hard.

    Just drink your milk, eat your fruit (esp oranges) and veggies and stay healthy. Believe me there will be plenty of time for pizza and ice cream sandwiches once the cravings hit.. I would just go buy a multi-vitamin from the store... centrum will do and put yourself on that. It will have everything you need, otherwise just eat healthy.

    I would like to add, on this note, STRESS. The stress of a wedding can be very traumatic to mother and baby. Once pregnant we are advised to avoid all possible extra stress. Stress of pregnancy in and of itself is hard enough without throwing added pressure into the soup pot, so to speak.

    Folic acid (Folate) containing foods:

    Grains

    * Fortified breakfast cereal
    * Whole wheat products

    Meat and Beans

    * Liver
    * Eggs
    * Beans
    * Sunflower seeds

    Vegetables—Excellent Source!

    * Asparagus
    * Leafy green vegetables

    Fruits

    * Oranges
    * Strawberries
    * Cantaloupes and other melons

    Milk, Yogurt, Cheese, Fats, Oils, and Sweets are poor sources of folate!

    This will aid in preventing neural tube defects such as spina bifida.

    Also, I noticed that you have never had a PAP smear. Please run, do not walk to your nearest doctor immediately. It is imperative that every sexually active woman of child bearing years have a PAP smear done yearly.
