    Precordial catch syndrome
OK here it goes... PRECORDIAL CATCH SYNDROME SUCKS!. omg just kill me already!! I feel like I'm literally going to die!. Ok past that part.. I am 13 and I've had this little son of a biscuit for like 8 months, and its not getting any better... I thought I was having this heart attack or something but turns out its "harmless".. I flipped out and went to the doctor. I got to EKG, and an X-ray... So I'm fine... But u no its still there randomly comeing to ruin my life!! Like I was sitting in class taking this test right.. and then out of nowhere.. BAM! It comes and I'm all trying to hold my chest (without it looking like I'm holding my boob)o.O.. Everyone's all looking at me like ***? And its still there and I'm all trying to not look crazy... Anyway!! I did a little reasearch(more like 20 hours on the computer).. and I read all the symptoms and junk, so I just wanted to let people no that,"im no doctor" your not alone... There are like KA- BILLIONS! Of people who have the mother and so yea that's about it... Hope this helped anyone out? -Martina:3

I'm 52, and I still get PCS every so often, and have since I was a teen. It hurts like stink while it's happening, but if you take a very deep, full breath it causes the muscles that are cramping to 'pop,' or release, and the pain is instantly gone.

Something I've found through my own experimentation that helps when PCS strikes: grab your left ribcage with your right hand, and hold tight while pulling your left arm in tight against your body. Then breathe in deep and fast. It'll help with the pain as you work out the cramp that's causing the pain.

PCS won't kill you, regardless of the panicked feeling you get when it hits. It's NOT cardiac-related, in fact there's no known cause or treatment, and is considered non-life-threatening. It's just one of those minor annoyances that those of us that have it need to put up with every so often.
