    EtG test
I have an EtG test with a 100ng/ml cutoff . I passed and want to know if levels under 100 are of great or no significance to licensing boards ? I am a bio engineer.

I am not aware of any ETG tests that a licensing board requires. Were you on some form of disipline from the board ?

There should be no reading available. 100ng is the cutoff for an immunoassay. It returns only negative or positive. Negatives are not confirmed therefore no way to measure EtG present.

    Thanks dr. Bill
This peth test , this seems to be more of a test for sustained rather than binge ? Let's say 3 12 oz beers on three occasions in a seven day period would
Likely not show pos ? But to a
Day for 7 days would likely up regulate the enzyme that produces peth ?

Don't know what to tell you about PEth. Not at all sure about the need for sustained drinking and particularly how much and how long. The main problem for use of the test is whole blood requirement.

There is a recent study just pressed below.

Heike Gnann, Wolfgang Weinmann, Annette Thierauf (2012) Formation of Phosphatidylethanol and Its Subsequent Elimination During an Extensive Drinking Experiment Over 5 Days. Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research Volume 36, Issue 9, pages 1507–1511, September 2012

    Dr bill ,
Looking at Peth testing , about this new or newer technique of LC/ ms/ms , would you expect it to be a lot more expensive than hplc ? Hplc is about 160.00 . Considering labor , supplies, time , and most of all equipment ?
