Is there such a thing as chronic gastroenteritis?
My friend said they had gastroenteritis when they were younger and years later they still have to take a pill for it every day to prevent them from being sick? Is that for real? Because I thought gastroenteritis was something you had for like a week or something but then again I don't know much about it and couldn't find much to enlighten me..

Ask her the name of the pill, and then read up on it on the Internet. She could have a form of Crohn's disease or GERD.

I in fact have horrible gastric problems. From chronic panreatitis to hemmeroids. The gastrits can go away if it is from eating or drinking something that upset it, but for most people like me I take meds everyday. And yes it is something you have to control every day from watching what you eat to not being able to drink alcohol. It sucks but those painful sleepless nights and 15 hospitalizations I have given up some pleasures but my frequent flyer miles at the docs and hospital are at a all time low and my tummy is better.
