    So Scared- HIV
A little over two weeks ago, I gave unprotected oral sex to another male, however he did not ejaculate. After this I started to freak out about Hiv. Now it's a little over two weeks and my throat has been hurting with white spots on one of my tonsils, my lower back has been hurting, and there is a rash on my lower back as well. I can't tell if my groin is swollen and I am freaking out, I don't know what to do. What would be the chances that this could be something else considering I just made the worst mistake of my life.

Does this person you gave oral sex to have HIV or AIDS? Why are you so worried?

While HIV can be transmitted through pre-ejaculate IF you did contract the virus the chances of symptoms presenting themselves after 2 weeks is pretty slim. Chances are that you are working yourself up and imagining that everything that is wrong with you is "proof" that you have HIV. Guilt is causing you to imagine all of these things.

Usually after 2-4 weeks the HIV antibodies will be present in your blood stream so if you are really freaking out why not just go and have a blood test done.

My guess is that you feel so guilty about what you did that you are convincing yourself you have HIV just like after girls have sex they are convinced they are pregnant. Its about freaking out over the potential ramifications of your actions.

You need to take every suspicion of illness seriously. There may be emotional effects at play, but brushing it off as psychosomatic is not the safest route. See a doctor and describe your symptoms. You don't necessarily need to tell the doctor about the oral sex, although it is recommended.

HIV is not the only STD out there, nor is it even the most common one, depending on your demographic. You could have even contracted a simple bacterial infection.

See a doctor, first and foremost. Deal with the emotional issues separately.
