    Kidney Infections
I was diagnosed with a severe kidney infection and treated twice with anti botics. The last antbiotic was so hard on my system it left me with joint aches and retaining water. I just don't know, I still feel horrible it has been March 1, 2007, The drug was Levaquin and the docs are saying maybe the drug is still in my system? I am taking a water pill to allivate some of the swelling, my kidney still hurts... has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them?

I was just recently on Levaquin myself. I started on 500 mg for 5 days and then I went to 750mg for two days. This antibiotic was so hard on my system I actually got sick from it. Although my infection was gone the road to getting there was tough. I would say if you are still retaining water though and are still experiencing pain to go back and consult with your doctor again. Maybe even seek the advice of a specialist. Hope this helps.
