How do I help subside mild asthma symptoms without an inhaler?
I got up from my sitting down position and I tried water, I'm now feeling dizzy

One thing we found useful for a mild asthma attack was singing. Signing helps to reduce panic and improve your breathing.

Also breastfeeding, but I'm guessing this is not an option for you?

I find the panic attack it causes is more of the issue than anything, I try to listen to music and sit still if possible.

But also, you should never be far from an inhaler either.

Please don't try singing when you are in the middle of a true Asthma attack. Im not sure where some of this medical advice comes from. A true asthma attack is due to smooth muscle around your airways constricting airflow and oxygen delivery to the rest of your body. You need to either have a rescue inhaler close by, or look into taking certain medications that reduce the change of you having an attack. The best most of therapy is to have a fast acting inhaler such as Albuterol or Combivent with you at all times.

Fr_Chuck does not find this helpful : comes from people with asthma, where the panic attack which is common makes it worst. And they already said they did not have an inhaler at the time, many can't afford them at the 150 plus dollars they cost now
Chuck, can you show me where the OP said that he/she does not have an inhaler nor can't afford one?

What I got from the OP's subject line was that he/she did not want to use the inhaler because it was a mild attack.

The OP also did not mention a panic attack. However, panicking because of an attack is common.

$150 for an inhaler? You need to go to a different pharmacy. They can be purchased for as little as $4 in some areas. Albuterol goes for about $45, and can last longer than a month if used only as rescue.

It's the electronic nebulizer that can cost over $150, but that's a one time purchase.

I completely agree with the above post by joeyz123.

To the OP. If you are feeling dizzy, it is necessary for you to use your inhaler as it sounds like your O2 sats might be low due to the attack.
