Does Decompression work for Disk problems?
    Hello

I have degenerative discs in my lumbar spine. It has caused me chronic pain for years. Last year I herniated my disc at L5. It was horrendous. It has taken me a year to feel moderately better. I see a chiropractor and have had accupuncture for Sciatic pain. But my back is always uncomfortable and I am limited in what I can do. Some days are tougher than others.

Is anyone familiar with decompression treatment and does it work?

    Thanks

Have you ever heard of gravity boots? they were used around in the eighties-I believe they work well. Not sure of what other decompression treatment you mean.

Yes, only I had to get the operation as an emergency,my disc in my kneck, had slipped and the bulge at my disc was the largest the surgeons had every seen. I ended up not walking very well ,I had an op in aug07 and again dec 07. So I've had the op twice. Since having the op I feel worse, the pain is unbearable,my walking is terrible,my back is unbelievable in pain, after I got surgeon to have me 2 mri scans 1 on kneck 1 lower back,it came back as arthiritis in my kneck and lower back, ill never get better in my walking, my other discs are also bulging all over my spine so I reckon ill be in surgery in a few years again. As for you you need to see a neorologist, very quickly don't take excuses from your gp,get seen to quickly,oh and I had to wait a year to see surgeons. Good-luck sharon
