Why use a expansion tank on closed loop?
I have a expansion tank on a chill water system, the tank is located in the penhouse and the pump is in basement, the build. Is 12 floors plus base. And pen. about 150ft. the makeup water and pump are all in the base. there is no air seperator, the pipe comes off top of the return chill water, goes to the penhouse, then to tank, so its going to take at least 65psi of makeup water just to push it to tank in static mode, do I need to increase this pressure and what purpose is the tank being that far away from makeup point
