    magnitude and direction of co planar forces
    I have a question saying

    determine the magnitude and direction of resultant of the co planar forces acting on the component shown below determine the line of action and equilibrant from some reference point on the component

    in a sample question which I did I drew a table which looked like this

    force horizontal vertical
    comp comp
    60 n 49.15 34.41
    10 n - 5 8.7
    5 n -4.3 -2.5
    40 n 30.64 -25.7

    70.49 efh 14.91 efv

    R=square root sign (efh2)+(efv2)
    =72.05
    stupidly I didn't write down how I got from the original 60 n to acheaving the 49.15 in example 1 in the horizontal component or the 34.41 in the vertical component could any one please help with the formula for doing this
    many thanks ben
