    using equations to solve word problems?
    Winchesters community bank charges $6 per month plus 15 cents per check for the use of a standard checking account. Thomas had a checking account there for 8 months and was charged a service fee of 53.10. How many checks did he write during that period?

    C'mon Jennyjen123 you can do this one! How many months? X how many $ per month =? When you get that answer, subtract it from $53.10. Divide the balance by .15 =? That is the number of checks.

    I hope I'm not doing someone's home work for them... however my calculation says 34 Cheques.
