    Can someone please help me prove:
    tan(x) = (tan(x) -1)/ (1-cot (x))

    Convert the tangent and cotangent functions to their sine and cosine equivalents, then simplify the resulting fraction - you can start by multiplying both numerator and denominator by sin(x)cos(x).
