    Confusing Calculus question? Please Help!
    If the population growth (P) in a community is prjected to follow the function P= 7t^2 + 5t + 350 (t is time in years), then estimate the instantaneous rate of growth in the 5th year. You must determine the slopes of at least two secants before making your prediction.
    Secant 1:
    h = 0.1
    m =

    Secant 2:

    h = 0.01
    m=


    Record your estimate for the instantaneous rate of change. Do not include units.

    I think you meant to use the word "tangents," not "secants."

    What have you done so far to find the solution? Have you tried determining values for P(t) at t = 5 plus or minus h?
