    factoring equations
    1.solve the following equations.
    x+3 x
    a) (2 ) (4 )=16
    b) log(x+17)-log(x-1) + log(x)=1

    2. simultaneous equations.
    a) 2x-y=5,and 2x+y=3.
    b) x+2y=4,and x-y=1

    3a. Convert each of the following numbers into base-2.
