    Magnitude
    Two forces, one of 35 pounds and the other 50 pounds, act on the same object. The angle between the forces is 30 degrees. Find the magnitude of the resultant vector of these two forces.

    Ok, have you a diagram of the situation? This is vital if you want to understand your question.

    The resultant is given by the line with double arrows. The pic is not to scale though. This is called the parallelogram rule.

    Can't you find a way to find the resultant now? Hint, you'll need to know the cosine rule if your drawing is not to scale.
