    how do you solve system of equations using substitution?
    2x+3y=5
    x-5y=9

    First use X - 5Y = 9

    X = 5Y + 9

    Now put 5Y + 9 in place of the X in the other equation; now
    2(5Y + 9) + 3Y = 5

    Now solve for Y.

    When you get your answer for Y you can solve for X.
