    Is √-36= 6i or ±6i
    Will it be right to say √-36=±6i? If no then please tell why.

    √-36= 6i

    since -36 can be written as -1*6*6 or -1*6^2
    therefoe \sqrt(-36)=\sqrt(-1*6^2)
    =6\sqrt(-1)
    =6i {since \sqrt(-1)=i}
