    Why do you believe 3, how did you do it?

    Look at this page
    Order of Operations - PEMDAS

    In this case, you will multiply first 3X3
    Then start at the left, and work your way over.

    No the answer is not 3

    It is not 3.

    Look at order of operations. Multiplication comes before addition/subtraction.
