    Trigometric tables and graphics
    Hi,

I have a question on one of my assignments that I do not understand, I have looked through all my work on mathematics but have not found anything to do with this. I have the question...

Produce a table of values for the function F(θ) = 100.sin(θ) + 20.SIN(3.θ) for the values of θ from 0' to 180' (in 15' steps). Draw the graph of F (θ) against θ and from this determine the peak value of the wave form and the angles at which this occurs.

Please point me in the right direction, as at the moment I don't even know where to start. If possible please don't give me the answers but advice on what it means and how to start it please :-)

    Thanks

This is rather straight forward. Just enter values into your given equation and write them down.

    i.e.

    100sin(0)+20sin(3(0))=0

    100sin(15)+20sin(3(15))=40.02...

    100sin(30)+20sin(3(30))=70

And so forth until you reach 100sin(180)+20sin(540)

That's all there is to it. Then see where the highest point lies.

Compare that to the derivative. Graph the function. That always helps.

Thanks very much mate, that helped me a lot! Something so simple now I look at it but I really didn't know where to start. Thanks again!
