    In order to solve something, there needs to be an equation (i.e. an equals sign, "=").

    Let's just assume, for the sake of teaching you how to solve it if it was an equation, that you have:



    Most likely your problem has something other than 29 on the right hand side of the equals sign, but you can use this example to see how to solve for x.

    First, we want to get the log term all by itself:



    Now, we can get rid of the log by raising 10 to the power of each side:





    Now, we can take the reciprocal of each side to get the x on top:



    Finally, multiply by 10 to get x all alone:
