    Could someone possibly help me with this? I don't get it no matter how many times I read it. Thanks for any help you can be.
    You recently started the paperwork to purchase your new home, and you were just notified that you can move into the house in 2 weeks. You decide to hire a moving company, but are unsure which company to choose. You search online and are interested in contacting two companies, Heavy Lifters and Quick Move, to discuss their rates. Heavy Lifting charges an $80 fee plus $35 per hour. Quick Move charges $55 per hour with no additional fees.

    Which mover provides a better deal for 2 hours of work?

    This is not a linear system. Just multiply the hourly rates by 2.

    But for the first one, don't forget the extra fee.

    Since you know the length of time (2 hours), just do the math.

    $80 + 2 * $35= ?

    $55 * 2 = ?

    You can figure out when the two rates equal each other

    $80 + $35T = $55T

    by solving for T (time in hours). At times less than T, Quick Move is the better one. At times greater than T, Heavy Lifters is better.
