    Determine the amount of heat (in kJ) given off when 1.72 * 10^4 g of NO2 is produced according to the following equation

    2NO + O2 --> 2 NO2 H = - 114.6 kJ/mol

    According to your equation, when 1 mole of NO2 is produced, 114.6kJ of energy is given off.

    What is the mass of 1 mole of NO2?

    That mass will give the amount of energy given, that is 144.5kJ

    What mass are you required to find the energy released?

    By proportion, you will obtain your required answer!
