    Math questions - I'm stuck
    I'm stuck can anyone please help with the following math question - I'm studying for exams

    y-2 over 3 + y-1 over 5 = 2
    under
    x+2 over 7 - y+5 over 3 = -2

    Could you please post so we can be sure of what you mean. Come on, it's easy to write

    (y-2)/3+(y-1)/5=2, assuming that is what you mean? I am not trying to be critical, but it makes your problem rather ambiguous to translate.

    Assuming I am correct in my translation:

    Solve for y,

    The LCD is 15, so multiply through by 15:







    Can you finish? Let me know if you remain stuck.

    You treat these as you would any fraction. Find the LCD first. Does that help?
