    PLEASE HELP ME !

    Consider the sample (X1,X2,. Xn) drawn from a discrete random variable with the following probability mass function :


    P(X = x) = p(1 - p)1-x (note , the 1-x is a power or its placed above p(1-p).

    with p E (0; 1) and x = 1; 2; 3... Determine:

    a) The maximum likelihood estimator for 1/p

    b) The maximum likelihood estimator for V ar(X) = (1 - p) /p^2 ( note ,its p to the power of 2).
