    probability problems homework
    A lady has fine gloves and hats in her closet -18blue,32red,and 25 yellow the lights are out and it is totally dark.In spite of the darkness.she can make out the difference between a hat and a glove.She takes out an item out of the close only if she is sure that if it is a glove how many gloves must she take out to make sure she has a pair of each color?

    The answer is "none of the above." If there are 32 red gloves and 25 yellow gloves it's possible she could pull all the reds and yellows without getting a single blue - that would be 57 gloves. At this point there are only blues left. So she is guarranted to get a blue pair by taking two more gloves. So the total is 32+ 25 + 2 = 59.

    I have a feeling that you mistyped the problem, as it seems the hats have nothing to do with anything.
