Math word problem
Bill spent 2/5 of his \$ on a coat and the remainder of his \$ on 4 shirts. If each shirt cost the same amount, what fraction of his \$ did he spend on each shirt?

1/4 of 3/5

1/4*3/5
= 3/20

He spent 3/20 on each shirt.

He spent 2/5 on a coat and 3/5 on the shirts.

Since there are 4 shirts, he wants 1/4th of 3/5.

(3/5)(1/4)=3/20
