    Integrated Science--Specific Heat
    I have an extra credit assignment on an area we haven't yet fully covered & I am not coming up with a way to answer these & work to prove it. I have attached the questions BUT they all deal with Specific Heat. Any help is appreciated & it is due tomorrow 2/15/12

The question is: How many calories are required to convert 17g of ice at 0.0 Celsius to liquid water at 32.0 Celsius? I used Heat=Mass x Change in Temp x Specific Heat and got the answer 544 calories over grams Celsius. Is this correct?

I would like to know the conversion of "Specific Heat"(KJ/Kg/K) to "Overall Heat Transfer Coefficient"(W/m2/K) for the calculation of heat load. Looking forward for the answers. Immediate reply would be appreciated. Thanks, Rupesh
