    Calculating total grams of a product from a reaction
    If I have 84 grams of sodium bicarbonate and reacted with 60.1 grams of acetic acid how do I figure out the total grams of products that will be formed. I need help on how to approach this problem.

    First of all, you have to write your equation. The formula of sodium bicarbonate is and that of acetic acid,

    The equation is then;



    - Now, balance the equation.
    - Find the number of moles of sodium bicarbonate there is in 84 grams.
    - Find the number of moles of acetic acid there is in 60.1 grams.
    - From the equation, find the mole ratio, hence the limiting reagent.
    - Take the number of moles of the limiting reagent, and with the equation, find the number of moles of each reactants produced.
    - With the number of moles, you can find the mass of the products.
