    Average of History Test Score
    In a history test, Andrew got 62%. For the whole class the mean mark was 64% and the median was 59%. Which average tells him whether he is in the top half or the bottom half of the class?

    The median is the middle number. So if you have 5 students in your class and they got 30,45,65,70,90 then the median is 65%. In your case the median was 59% so half the class got below 59%. Since Andrew mark is 62% its greater than half the class so he is in the top half of the class
