    Why does air resistance increase as a plane gets faster?

    Hello Natasha

    Well... what is air? It's a mix of... (google "what is air").
    All that air is a mixture of these molecules (what your question calls particles).
    If you move your hand through air, you push away these molecules.
    And the faster you go, the more molecules you will find on your way each second, and the more molecules you have to push away...

    Hold your hand out of a car window. First while parking, later while driving at different speeds. See what happens while speeding.

    A plane goes much faster, so it will have to push even more molecules out of it's way...
