    I don't have an answer sadly. My laptop is, you guessed it, 2 years old. It was operating normally one day, and when I went to turn it off, it was frozen. Hard drive light was on without blinking. Just solidly bright. So I held the power button down. And the next day I went to get on the internet and it wouldn't start up. 7 months later, I am still trying to get it to boot up. It won't even get to HP logo or BIOS. Sometimes I can get into the BIOS, if I hold the power button down for 30 seconds, but it freezes in the bios before I can save anything. The screen is NOT dead. But I don't get anywhere. The more I try, the less it does.

    First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

    Sounds like either a bad hard drive or a bad motherboard. It needs to be looked at by a tech.
