    How and when to replace Laptop battery
    Sir,

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6103 Entertainment Notebook PC and I get message frequently
    "consider replacing your battery" How to replace . Where are HP service centres in Mumbai Pl.help me

    Are you sure it's actually suggesting you change your battery? Or that you charge it or switch to a different battery or power source? I get a warning like that if I don't plug my laptop in and drain the battery using it.

    Yes it is suggesting to consider replacing battery, hence my query.

    How old is the battery? Replace every 3-4 yrs

    You have to do a battery calibrate once in a while and it may help you now. One way is to enter setup and let the laptop run down the battery completely without the possibility of the energy manager coming on. Then recharge completely.

    This will "re-sync" the battery gas gauge.
