    Buying a laptop
    I need a laptop for internet surfing, email and writing letter and saw one online that has this configuration and want to be sure if I would be able to connect to internet with DLS THROUGH PHONE LINE. THANKS

    256MB RAM
    20GB hard drive
    CDROM DRIVE
    Network 10/100
    Modem 56k

    The network card will allow you to connect to a DSL line. But I wouldn't pay more than $100 for this laptop. It is ancient technology

    You can get a brand new machine with better specs for under $400.
