Hi, how are you? My problem is kind of simple but complicated as well.
I've been w2 employee for 2 year with this chiropractor as a massage therapist, for the first year and 3months I was full time and then the last 9 months as a part time, but the new law in Florida (PIP) Personal injury protection won't reimburst massage to patients who is been in a car accident, so the chiropractor could not keep me after January 1st when is the law change, so 9 months ago I started working as a 1099 in a spa. So basically my question is can I get unployement even all this crazy ploblem?

I am reading no because you are currently employed. Florida law is: "In Florida, as in most states, the base period is the earliest four of the five complete calendar quarters before you filed your claim for benefits. For example, if you filed your claim in October of 2010, the base period would be from June 1, 2009, through May 31, 2010.

During the base period, your work history and earnings must meet all three of these requirements:
•You must have earned wages in at least two of the four calendar quarters that make up the base period.
•Your earnings during the entire base period must be at least one-and-a-half times your wages in the highest paid quarter of the base period. For example, if you earned $5,000 during your highest paid quarter, your total earnings for the base period year must be at least $7,500.
•You must have earned at least $3,400 during the entire base period.

Reasons for Unemployment

You must be out of work through no fault of your own to qualify for unemployment benefits."

If you are not working, yes you can, but if you are now working as a 1099 then you can not unless your earnings are very low now.
