Who is the best comedian and why?

To me it's a toss up between W.C. Field and Mae West. Why? Because they had very creative minds. Mae wrote a broadway play SEX and W.C wrote all of his movies. They were both geniuses.

Johnny Carson... His facial expressions and he seemed so surprised and proud when the audience got it. I started watching his show when I was in high school and loved him.

Larry the cable guy Is so much like people that I grew up with. What a hoot and he is for real or at least is so good he makes you think he was raised in some backwoods holler.

Billy Connolly Because he tells it the way it is.
Rick Mercer For standing for what he believes in. Lol Both are the best I have ever seen

Best it's a relative phrase. Some people might say Lenny Bruce because he revolutionized standup comedy. Others might say Bob Hope because of his longevity. A case could be made for many others.

As for me, I don't want to play this who is best game. I suppose you will turn this into another of your religious discussions.
